R2 Data Import Services
Bring your records into R2 with help from our team. We support structured CSV imports for approved record types so you can get started faster with organized, connected data.
Step-by-Step Import Process
Follow the process below to request data import services and prepare your records for submission.
Create Your Account and Subscribe
Start by creating your R2 account and selecting the subscription that fits your organization.
Request Data Import Services
Submit the request form on this page. Our team will review your request and contact you with the next steps, supported import options, and CSV template guidance.
Complete the CSV Template
Fill out the provided CSV template with the records you want imported into R2. This helps ensure your data is structured correctly before submission.
Send Your File to Our Team
Once your template is complete, send it to us for processing. We will review the file and import the approved data into your account.
Import Processing Timeline
Standard imports are typically completed within 3-5 business days after receiving the finalized file and confirming it is ready for import.
Supported Record Types
We currently support structured CSV imports for the following approved record types and their associated record details.
Locations
Import location records and their related details, such as location name, address, PLSS, coordinates, and other supported location information.
Assemblies
Import assembly records and their related details, such as make, model, type, serial number, and other supported assembly information.
Contacts
Import contact records for individuals or companies, including supported details such as name, email, phone number, and other contact information.
Pairing + Linking
Import approved record types individually or in supported paired combinations when you want related records linked during import.
Data Import Structure & Pricing
Imports are processed using a row-based structure to maintain clean, consistent relationships between records in the system.
Each row represents one unit of import.
Use pairing when you want related records linked during import.
Includes up to 2,000 rows of imported data.
The base import fee includes up to 2,000 rows. After 2,000 rows, additional rows are billed at $0.50 per row.
How Data Import Works
We provide structured data import services using CSV files. To ensure data consistency and maintain accurate relationships between records, all imports are processed using a standardized row-based structure.
Each row represents one unit of import. A row can contain either:
- An individual record import
- A paired import used to link two related records during import
Two Import Options
- Location + Assembly
- Location + Contact
- Assembly + Contact
Use pairing when you want to import two related records together so they are automatically linked during import.
- Individual Location
- Individual Assembly
- Individual Contact
Use individual importing when you want to import records without linking them during import.
How Pairing Works
Pairing is recommended only when you want one record imported together with another correlating record.
- A Location can be paired with one Assembly or one Contact
- An Assembly can be paired with one Location or one Contact
- A Contact can be paired with one Location or one Assembly
If you want to import a Location together with one of its related Assemblies, they can be included in a single row. If that same Location has additional Assemblies, those would be imported separately in their own individual rows.
How Individual Importing Works
If you only want to import Assemblies, Locations, or Contacts without linking them during import, they are imported as individual records.
- Each individual Location has its own row
- Each individual Assembly has its own row
- Each individual Contact has its own row
This is the best option when you want to bring records into the system first and manage relationships afterward.
Record Linking
When records are imported as paired data, those records are automatically linked within the system during import.
- Each paired row creates one direct linked relationship
- The two records included in that row are connected immediately upon import
Example: A Location + Assembly pair will be linked right away.
After Import
Records imported individually can be linked at any time within the system after import.
- Import large datasets efficiently
- Establish additional relationships as needed
- Continue organizing your data after import
Pricing Structure
Imports are priced by total row count using a base fee plus additional row pricing when applicable.
- $1,000 minimum covers up to 2,000 rows
- Rows 2,001 and above are billed at $0.50 per row
- A row may contain either an individual record or a paired import
Whether you import a single record or a paired set of related records, each row counts as one row toward total pricing.
Example Pricing
In this example, the first 2,000 rows are covered by the base import fee, and the remaining 1,000 rows are billed at $0.50 per row.
Recommended Approach
- Use pairing only when you want two related records linked during import
- Import remaining records individually when linking is not needed during import
- Organize files clearly before submission to reduce revisions
This helps keep your data structured correctly and makes the import process more efficient.
