Where R2 Comes From

Software Shaped by the Work Behind the Records

R2 began with a simple observation: important operational work often depends on information spread across too many places.

Spreadsheets, paper files, digital folders, emails, separate systems, field notes, and institutional knowledge can all play a role in keeping an organization moving. But when those pieces are disconnected, visibility becomes harder and even simple follow-up can take more effort than it should.

R2 Utility was built around the idea that locations, assets, tasks, contacts, notices, files, reporting, and operational activity should be able to exist within one connected structure.

Why R2 Exists

Reduce the Distance Between the Record and the Work

R2 is designed to help organizations spend less time piecing information together and more time understanding what is happening across their work.

01

Disconnected Records

Information often lives across separate files, systems, folders, reports, and individual workflows.

02

Limited Visibility

When records are scattered, understanding status, history, responsibilities, and next steps becomes unnecessarily difficult.

03

A Better Foundation

R2 creates a structured foundation where records and activity can stay connected as an organization grows.

The Philosophy Behind R2

The System Should Support the Work – Not Become More Work.

R2 is built around practical structure, clear visibility, and workflows that make sense for the people actually responsible for the records.

Our Background

Perspective From Both the Field and the Office

The experience behind R2 includes municipal water and wastewater operations, backflow prevention, cross-connection control, utility support, recordkeeping, administration, and technical support.

That background matters because operational software has to work for more than one type of person. Field users need clarity and speed. Administrative users need dependable records. Managers need visibility. Organizations need continuity over time.

R2 continues to evolve with input from people working across these different environments.

How We Build

Practical by Design

R2 is guided by a few simple principles that help keep the platform useful, structured, and adaptable.

Practical

Features should solve real operational problems and make everyday work easier to manage.

Structured

Clean, consistent records create better visibility and more useful reporting over time.

Flexible

Different organizations work differently. The platform should support that without losing structure.

Accessible

Useful operational tools should be available to organizations of different sizes and levels of complexity.
