Cross Connection
Manage assemblies, testers, and gauges in one place so backflow testing workflows, compliance tracking, and reporting stay organized across your system.
What is the Cross Connection Module?
The Cross Connection module adds specialized tools for backflow prevention programs. It provides dedicated areas for Assemblies, Testers, and Gauges, helping your team maintain accurate test history, consistent device records, and compliance-ready reporting across your system.
Cross Connection Dashboard
The Cross Connection Dashboard opens when you click Cross Connection in the left sidebar. This is your overview of all assemblies in the system and the main place to view and manage the assemblies list.
- Click Cross Connection in the left sidebar to open the Cross Connection Dashboard.
- An overview of assemblies across the system.
- A list of assembly records you can search, filter, and open.
- Clicking an assembly row opens the Assembly Summary Page.
- Filter Pills show quick counts and let you quickly narrow the assemblies list. Selecting a pill filters the results to match.
- Assemblies List displays all assemblies in the system. Click any row to open that assembly’s Summary Page.
- + Add Assembly opens the Add Assembly workflow so you can create a new assembly record with full device details.
Assembly Summary Page
Clicking an assembly from the Cross Connection Dashboard opens the Assembly Summary Page. This page is the workspace for the selected assembly and is made up of summary cards so you can review notes, files, tasks, tests, assembly details, location details, notices, and activity in one place.
- From the Cross Connection Dashboard, click any assembly in the list.
- A header with the assembly’s key identifiers and status.
- The assembly workspace made up of Assembly Summary Cards.
- Quick access to the most important history and actions for the device.
Assembly Summary Cards
Summary cards provide a quick snapshot of what’s linked to the selected assembly. Use these cards to review recent activity at a glance, then open the full page when you need to view and manage everything in that category.
Notes Summary Card
This card shows notes that are tied to the selected assembly.
- Example: Device access notes, special requirements, or service history guidance.
- The most recent note in the snapshot.
- Title / description, created date / time, and the user who created it.
- Attachment / comment indicators when included.
- A visibility badge: Public, Internal, or Private.
- Click the note to open the full note window.
- Click Notes in the header to open the full Notes Summary Page for the assembly.
Files Summary Card
This card shows files that are tied to the selected assembly.
- Example: Manuals, install photos, repair documents, or compliance PDFs for the device.
- The most recent file added for the assembly.
- File name / type / category, date added, and who added it.
- A visibility badge: Public, Internal, Private, or Link Only.
- Click a file to open the file viewer and details.
- Click Files in the header to open the full Files Summary Page for the assembly.
Tasks Summary Card
This card shows tasks linked to the selected assembly and includes a dedicated action to execute a field test.
- Example: Starting a field test directly from the assembly while onsite.
- A task list view linked to the assembly.
- A large green Field Test button used to execute a test workflow quickly.
- Status indicators and quick actions for each task (where enabled).
- Click a task row to open the full task view.
- Click Field Test to start test execution tied to the assembly.
- Click Tasks in the header to open the full Tasks Summary Page for the assembly.
Tests Summary Card
This card displays the most recent backflow tests recorded for the selected assembly and provides fast access to test reports.
- Example: Confirming the most recent test result and downloading the report for documentation.
- Recent tests, including the most recent test report.
- Each row includes the Test ID and a date / time stamp.
- An icon indicating test compliance status.
- A Download action for the test report.
- Click the test row to open the full test report PDF.
- Click Tests in the header to open the full Tests Summary Page for the assembly.
Assembly Details Summary Card
This card provides a quick snapshot of the core information saved for the selected assembly.
- Example: Verifying serial number, hazard level, and protection type before recording a test.
- Assembly name and compliance status.
- Serial number and device specs (make, model, type, size).
- Hazard level, isolation, and protection values.
Click Assembly Details in the header to open the full Assembly Details Summary Page. This page serves as the control center for the assembly and includes:
- Complete assembly details and specifications.
- Contacts linked to the assembly.
- Privacy & Controls including visibility, verification status, ownership, and status.
- Sub Assemblies associated with the parent assembly.
- Additional Details such as useful life, install date, replacement cost, and acquisition cost (when used).
GPS Coordinates Summary Card
This card displays the saved GPS coordinates for the selected assembly.
- Example: Confirming the correct device location for field routing and navigation.
- Saved latitude and longitude values.
- A map view preview for quick visual confirmation.
- Click the map / card area to open the full GPS Coordinates view for the assembly.
Location Details Summary Card
This card provides a brief summary of the location information connected to the assembly.
- Example: Confirming the service address and onsite contact before completing a test.
- Location name and service address.
- Primary contact name and phone (when assigned).
- Location description (when added).
- The card itself does not open a separate details page.
Notices Summary Card
This card shows the most recent notice tied to the assembly.
- Example: A compliance reminder notice associated with the device record.
- Most recent notice with key fields such as title, type, and status.
- Notice reference number and date / time when available.
- Click a notice to open the notice preview and manage details.
- Click Notices in the header to open the full notices list for the assembly.
Activity Summary Card
This card shows recent activity tied to the selected assembly.
- Example: Tracking recent updates related to tasks, tests, or record changes.
- Recent actions connected to the assembly record.
- User, timestamp, and action context.
- Click Activity in the header to open the full activity list for the assembly.
Assemblies Dashboard
The Assemblies tab is where you view and manage assembly records for your backflow program. Assemblies are the device records your team tracks for testing, compliance, service history, and reporting.
- From the Cross Connection Dashboard, click the Assemblies tab.
- An assemblies list for your system with search and filter tools.
- Each row shows the assembly record and key device information used for identification and compliance tracking.
- Actions to add assemblies, open records, and manage assembly information.
- View Toggle lets you switch between Panel, Table, and Mobile views so you can display records in the layout that works best for your device and workflow.
- Filter Pills show quick counts and let you quickly narrow the assemblies list. Selecting a pill filters the results to match.

Testers Dashboard
The Testers tab is where you view and manage tester records for your backflow program. Testers are the certified users who perform tests and can be selected during test entry and reporting.
- From the Cross Connection Dashboard, click the Testers tab.
- A testers list for your system with search and filter tools.
- Each row shows the tester name, role, tester icon, and active status.
- Actions to add and manage tester information.
- View Toggle lets you switch between Panel, Table, and Mobile views so you can display records in the layout that works best for your device and workflow.
- Filter Pills show quick counts and let you quickly narrow the testers list. Selecting a pill filters the results to match.
- Testers List displays all testers in the system. Click a tester row to open and manage that tester record.
- + Add Tester opens the Add Tester workflow so you can create a new tester record for test entry and reporting.
Gauges Dashboard
The Gauges tab is where you view and manage gauge records for your backflow program. Gauges represent the equipment used during testing and help support consistent documentation and audit-ready records.
- From the Cross Connection Dashboard, click the Gauges tab.
- A gauges list for your system with search and filter tools.
- Gauge identifiers used during test entry and reporting.
- Actions to add and manage gauge information.
- View Toggle lets you switch between Panel, Table, and Mobile views so you can display records in the layout that works best for your device and workflow.
- Filter Pills show quick counts and let you quickly narrow the gauges list. Selecting a pill filters the results to match.
- Gauges List displays all gauges in the system. Click a gauge row to open and manage that gauge record.
- + Add Gauge opens the Add Gauge workflow so you can create a new gauge record for test entry and documentation.
